Description
Kobako, Japanese lacquer work, wooden box in the shape of a chest, ca. 1880/1900, MeijiSmall Japanese wooden box with two smaller boxes inside.
The smaller cans were also painted and like the outer box
decorated with paintings.
The jar is likely to be used for holding ink
or jewelry thought. Fine gold-colored painting on a deep black background.
Metal decorations stamped with flowers at the corners.
Very nice, undamaged condition.
